Jamey is delighted to have been selected by the Kansas State Nurses Association (KSNA) to write and record their theme song for their recognition of the Decade
of the Nurse. Jamey was
approached by Jackie
Feldman of the KSNA
and asked to consider
composing the theme
song for their program.
After some discussion a
final agreement was
reached and Jamey was
contracted to compose the
words and music for the
theme "Caring Hearts, Helping Hands". Upon completion, a recording of the song was presented to KSNA and was enthusiastically received.
The song titled "Caring Hearts and Helping Hands" is unique for Jamey since it does not reflect the usual Christian or biblical topics of the songs that Jamey is known for. Instead, the subject is exclusively that of the role that Nurses render in regards to the care and comfort toward patients and their family members. It mentions the long, and tedious hours and the unseen aspects of the life of the nurse that many don't stop to think about.
The song has been utilized in several graduating classes of student nurses. The song is going to be included on the forthcoming compact disc "Chapters of Life" which will be compiled of songs composed by Jamey.
