A rose by any other name would smell as sweet," declared William Shakespeare. Anne of Green Gables disagreed saying that a rose simply couldn't smell as sweet if it were called a skunk cabbage. It seems that Anne may have been right.

Brad Scott of Wildbranch Ministries in Utah (www.wildbranch.org) is a linguist specializing in ancient Hebrew. His discovery while translating the
ancient Hebrew text that we know as Genesis 5 has changed the way I read my Bible. You know the chapter, the one about the geneology from Adam to Noah with all those "begets." I always skimmed over that; it was just a string of names. In every language but Hebrew, that's exactly what it is. But if the names are listed from Adam to Noah in Hebrew, the list of each Hebrew name's meaning reads:
Man was appointed mortal sorrow, but the blessed God will come down teaching that His death will bring the despairing comfort.

Proverbs 30:4 asks the following: "...who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name, if you know?"
Did you answer God and Jesus? If you use a King James or New King James Bible, you are in possession of a secret code. The translators of the King James used the words "LORD" and "GOD" (all caps) when the name of God was used in the Hebrew text. It first appears in Genesis 2:4. The four Hebrew letters the translators saw were YHVH: YOD, HEY, VAV, HEY.

First century historian, Josephus said in his writings that it was unlawful for him to say the name, but it was pronounced with four vowel sounds, "ee-ah-oo-ay." Yahweh. What's in a name? In ancient Hebrew, each letter had its own meaning. Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey literally means "salvation and deliverance from the nailed hand."

Hallowed be His name! Jesus's name in Hebrew is Yeshua which means "Salvation", for He will save His people.

Mr. Shakespeare, there is much in a name.

The following excerpt is from www.wildbranch.org:
A beautiful picture comes into focus that began with Adam and has ended in rest with Noah in Genesis chapter five. When placing all the names together in Hebrew and in just the order they appear we see another testimony of the absolute design in the Word of God.
